Hello, I'm Gabriela

I’m from Peru and live in North Carolina, USA. I’m mother to three beautiful children who mean the entire world to me!

I created Haku Spanish in order to teach the world how to reach fluency in the Spanish language through a methodology that involves very easy straight-to-the-point explanations, interactive tools to make learning fun, and personalized instruction depending on the student’s very specific needs and goals.

I love serving people and my biggest goal is to help you maximize your potential to learn Spanish!

How my Spanish teaching journey began

I started working as a teacher in 2008 in Peru where I taught English as a Second Language (ESL) in private schools to children of all ages. I also had the opportunity to work at one of the best language centers in Lima where I taught English for Business, accumulating six years of experience as an educator.

Having realized my strong passion for teaching, I pursued a university career in Foreign Language Education and obtained my Bachelor's degree in 2013, with a double major of Spanish and ESL.

In 2015, a year after I moved to the USA, I started my career as an Online Spanish Teacher, teaching from beginners to advanced students.

I also have a teaching license in NC with three licensure areas: Spanish, English As A Second Language, and Special Education.

Over 4000 hours combined as an online Spanish teacher, initially on the Italki.com platformand then on my own site, working with adults and senior students from all over the world!
